Katie Runkles

Katie Runkles is a Program Analyst for the Deputy Director for Science Programs. Her responsibilities include analysis, planning, and evaluations for the Office of Science Programs. In addition to supporting the Deputy Director for Science Programs, Katie also serves as the Committee Manager for the Basic Energy Sciences Advisory Committee and provides program analyst support for the Office of Basic Energy Sciences. Katie has over 29 years of Federal Service with the Department of Energy. She began her federal career as a Clerk Typist in the Office of Environment, Safety and Health and has since worked in the Office of Defense Programs and the Office of Environmental Management. Katie joined the Office of Science in 2002 and has held positions in the Offices of High Energy Physics and Basic Energy Sciences. She has received several awards for outstanding government service.
