Ben Van Dusen

Prior to his time as an Einstein Fellow, Dr. Ben Van Dusen was a high school physics teacher at South Eugene High School (Eugene, OR). As a Fellow, Ben worked in the NSF's Engineering Directorate where his primary assignment was with the Small Business Innovative Research program. A primary project while at NSF was acting as the coordinator for the division's Committee of Visitors.

His time as Fellow inspired Ben to go back to school and earn his Ph.D. in Science Education from Colorado University, Boulder. Ben is currently an assistant professor at Iowa State University, where he prepares future 6-12 science teachers. Ben serves as the director of the Learning About STEM Student Outcomes (LASSO) platform and researches issues of equity, science learning, and critical quantitative methodologies.
