Dr. David Steele is a Science Education faculty member at Alder Graduate School of Education, where his teaching and research explores the intersection of science, justice, teacher preparation programs, and community transformation. He examines this intersection through the teaching and learning of science via justice-centered science pedagogical approaches. He also engages in researching the impacts of heteronormativity and heterosexism on sexual minority STEM students and pre-service teachers, with a goal of developing models to support their persistence and success in the field. Prior to his work at Alder GSE, David taught middle and high school science in Atlanta, GA and served as an Albert Einstein Fellow with the Department of Energy.
