Jennifer Wise is a K-12 Mathematics Coordinator for Lexington School District Two and a former seventh and eighth grade mathematics teacher from Hand Middle School within Richland County School District One in Columbia, SC. Jennifer served her Fellowship in the U.S. House of Representatives in the Office of Representative Phil Roe, MD (Tennessee 11th District).During her time at Hand Middle School, Jennifer has served as a mentor teacher, district mathematics facilitator, and coach for the track and math teams. She is a member of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, American Educational Research Association, Palmetto State Teachers Association, and the Junior League of Columbia. Jennifer attended the University of South Carolina as a Teaching Fellow and received her B.S. in mathematics and Masters of Teaching in secondary mathematics. With a commitment to lifelong learning and professional development, Jennifer has worked with Educational Testing Services at Princeton to establish a cut score for the Middle Level Mathematics Praxis Test, served with the South Carolina Education Oversight Committee as a member of the 6-8 Mathematics Standard Review Board, and represented her state as a math expert at the standards setting meeting for the National Center and State Collaborative. She was named as South Carolina's math awardee for the 2015 Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching and the 2017 South Carolina Teacher of the Year. Jennifer is currently pursuing her doctorate in Teaching and Learning with an emphasis in mathematics.
