Michelle Basile
Fellowship Placement: Capitol Hill
Cohort: 2013-2014
Michelle Basile taught Grades K-6 science in Independent Schools in Washington, DC, for seventeen years before her Fellowship. She was excited to introduce her students to unique learning opportunities which included citizen science, STEM competitions and robotics.
During her Fellowship, Michelle was placed in the office of Representative Susan Davis, where she helped the Congresswoman with her Education and Natural Resources policy portfolios.
Since leaving the Fellowship, Michelle has started a STEM consulting company that aids schools and organizations in the development and implementation of STEM-based curriculum. Services have included curriculum development, teacher in-services, instructional coaching, community partnership building, and informal science education development.
