Rebekah Hammack is a middle school STEM teacher at Stillwater Middle School in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Rebekah is serving her Fellowship in the National Science Foundation (NSF) in the Directorate for Education and Human Resources (EHR), Division of Research on Learning in Formal and Informal Settings (DRL).

Rebekah has been a science educator for 12 years and teaches robotics, environmental engineering, biomedical science, and 3D computer-aided design to sixth and seventh graders. Rebekah has also served as an Adjunct Professor at Oklahoma State University, where she has taught middle-level education courses for preservice elementary teachers.

Rebekah created an after-school engineering mentoring program for girls and teaches engineering-focused summer camps throughout Oklahoma. Rebekah also started a Technology Student Association chapter at her school and takes students to state and national competitions. Rebekah has received over $100,000 in grants and awards to enhance engineering education in her school and state. She served as the project manager for a Math Science Partnership grant to provide engineering-focused professional development to Oklahoma elementary teachers. Rebekah is a reviewer for Science Scope and School Science and Mathematics and a regular presenter at state and national STEM education conferences.

Rebekah holds a B.S. in agriculture from The Ohio State University, a M.S. in animal science from Oklahoma State University, and a Ph.D. in science education from Oklahoma State University. She holds National Board Certification in Early Adolescent Science and is a 2014 recipient of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching.
