Sally Mitchell is a high school chemistry teacher from East Syracuse Minoa Central High School, East Syracuse, NY. Sally is serving her fellowship in the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Science. She is certified to teach chemistry, physics, biology, general science, mathematics, Syracuse University Project Advance (SUPA) chemistry and forensics. She holds the position of the American Chemical Society Expert in STEM and is serving on the governance board of the newly formed American Association of Chemistry Teachers as a Special Consultant. She earned her Bachelor of Science degrees in chemistry and biology and her Master of Science degree in chemical education at Syracuse University, Syracuse, NY. Sally is the 2009 recipient of the American Chemical Society’s James Bryant Conant Award for outstanding teaching of high school chemistry.
